Position Overview – Designer:

The Designer is a generalist role, and the candidate is expected to possess the abilities to deal with aspects of Interior Architectural design and assist senior leaders in production, project and client management, and related issues. The position is responsible for handling a wide variety of project types and professional design activities including: spatial planning and design, finishes, FF&E, lighting, and code requirements. The role also includes contributing to project delivery, and supporting business development activities and firm operations.

The Designer will communicate and collaborate with senior management and firm leadership, clients, staff, consultants, vendors and contractors. The position is a solid platform for personal career growth, leads directly to advancement to senior levels, and supports the firm’s overall success and growth.

The ideal candidate will be organized, creative, and pragmatic with a good foundation in design concepts and principles, practices and construction. Good written and verbal communication, collaboration, interpersonal and problem solving skills are important abilities required for the position.

Other aspects of the role include:

  • Proficient in modeling/drawing skills in Revit, CAD, Adobe PS, Illustrator, InDesign, and MS Office tools Junior, Intermediate, and Senior Candidates
  • Ability to create Construction Documents independently Intermediate and Senior Candidates
  • Ability to work with multiple clients and on multiple projects simultaneously Junior, Intermediate, and Senior Candidates
  • Contribute to producing conceptual and fully executed designs Junior, Intermediate, and Senior Candidates
  • Collaborate within project teams, with vendors, and consultants to produce successful design outcomes Junior, Intermediate, and Senior Candidates
  • Support and contribute to the aesthetic, functional, and production aspects of projects Junior, Intermediate, and Senior Candidates
  • Assist senior leaders in curating design functional/aesthetic resources Junior Candidates
  • Participate in and support firm BD activities Intermediate and Senior Candidates
  • Provide mentorship and leadership support to other team members Intermediate and Senior Candidates
