The Maya Romanoff Skokie Showroom Manager is responsible for managing showroom sales, the operations and financial success of the showroom and maintaining an atmosphere of service excellence. This position reports to the National Sales Manager.
Roles & Responsibilities:
These responsibilities include inside sales, outside sales support, local marketing and promotion opportunities, and building a repeat client base of sales. The showroom manager is directly responsible for the efforts of any additional sales and administrative staff to be hired in the future, as well as developing and maintaining their own sales accounts.
The showroom manager is responsible for optimizing the showroom performance by identifying business opportunities and initiatives to improve sales. They will be knowledgeable and aware of the market trend and competitors, analyzing and recommending areas for business growth and improved sales.
• Manage all daily aspects of running a showroom
• Handles processing of the Showroom Sales, including, but not limited to, follow-up, sample fulfillment, quote generation, and closing sales
• Coordinates and manages visual marketing
• Schedule weekly showroom lunches
• Generate showroom events, including fall and spring markets
• Coordinates showroom maintenance and upkeep
• Continual CRM input and data management
• Client drop off and outside sales appointments
• Adhering to all company procedures and policies
• Representing the company’s best interests in their individual actions
• Any special projects and additional duties as assigned by manager or Maya Romanoff leadership
• Problem solving and troubleshooting client issues
Skills Required:
• 5 years showroom sales or outside sales experience, required
• 2 years showroom management experience, preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – verbal and written
• Attention to detail a must
• Self-confidence, grace under pressure
• Creating a hospitable and welcoming environment
• A passion for interior design
• Organizational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent customer relations skills
• Familiarity with wallcoverings a plus
• Team player, independent and proactive worker
• Very positive, welcoming presence in showroom
• Basic business math
• Excellent computer skills Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Knowledge of shipping / freight/ expediting orders
• The ideal candidate should possess proven sales success, coupled with design experience and excellent communication skills
• A degree in interior design or equivalent is preferred
• Experience in high-end design sales professional preferred
• Experience managing an upscale showroom is favorable
