2020 was a dumpster fire, but 2021 is going to be fire! Let us reflect on our performances last year and figure out ways to thrive this year. This is our year to push ourselves to do new, different, yet exciting things in order to be the best version of ourselves. New year, new goals, and our Next Gen’ers feel the same way!

RESOLUTION #1: Honing in on your own skills!

Next Gen’er Jamie Steuer from Metro Detroit resolution is to be more “tech savvy!”

“I was inspired by our current times. I’m amazed how quickly our society has evolved to not only accommodate, but encourage safe social distancing. I wanted to explore that avenue in design using technology, something I’ve always been passionate about and am now pursuing as a career. With more time at home, too, it felt like technology was the perfect way to explore my design curiosities and creativity”

RESOLUTION #2: Self care, Inward and Outward!

Next Gen’er Courtney Tornblom with Cambria from Dallas, Texas resolution is to keep spreading love!

“This is a year where we could use more optimism and be more intentional about how we are and what we say around others. The greatest thing we can ever offer is Love! God gave us the ability to love and we need to spread it around like wildfire!”

RESOLUTION #3: Propagate Plants!

Next Gen’er Hillary Johnson from Illinois resolution is to propagate plants.

“During the past year I was left in charge of all of my sister's plants since she took a seasonal job back in Colorado while she’s been furloughed. Having previously been a serial plant killer, I was determined to keep them all alive. Since then they have been thriving so this year I decided to take it a step further, hence the propagation!”

RESOLUTION #4: Trying to get a license!

Next Gen’er Aly LeonGuerrero from Nashville, Tennessee resolution is to pass the NCIDQ.

“It wasn’t so much an inspiration as it’s been my forever goal since graduating. Just now sitting for them!”
